Hey Everyone! It's been awhile. Life has been crazy, and it doesn't seem to be settling down anytime soon. However, we have started back to school, and I feel much better being back to routine. I'm starting to feel somewhat normal again. Can I get an Amen?? πŸ™Œ

We started back to school in person two weeks ago. Our district just started back yesterday, half in person/ half virtual. They left the decisions up to the families. We are blessed with our small private school. We are 100% in person on campus, using social distance, and little tweaks here and there to allow everyone to be safe. I can honestly say, a long with some of other parents, that I felt 100% comfortable sending the kiddos back to school in person. We feel our school has an amazing plan, staff, and support team. The kids are so excited to be back with their friends. The school of has done a great job where C&L do not comment on the changes. It has definitely given us more normality in our home.

What is your school doing? I many teacher friends, and I pray for them all. All the changes and technology. We are thinking of you and all your hard work!

So, what have we been up too?

School every morning. Never thought I would miss carline. πŸ˜‚

Logan's teacher sent me this on her first day of school.

Evening homework - Logan insisted on wearing a mask for homework time. They are not required to wear a mask at school until 5th grade.

And Colt and I had a super glue incident with one of his first projects. That's why I leave the Gorilla Glue to Eric. 😏

My mom has been wanting a Maine Coon cat for months now. Back in July, she found this beauty in a shelter about an hour and half from our house. She was scheduled to had neck surgery that week, so she decided not to get her at the time. Well, after her surgery and recovery, she kept thinking about this pretty cat. Maine Coons do not show up in shelters often. She is 5 years old, and was surrendered by her only family due to financial reasons.

All Mom could think about was this cat. So one Saturday I told her I was going to get this cat for her. Eric works Saturdays, so the kids and I loaded up go pick up "Katrina" from the shelter.

We brought her home to my mom, she renamed her Princess Mia, and now Princess Mia is living her absolute best life. She is the sweetest, fluffiest, and lovingest cat.

She spends 97% of the time on her back like this...

My entire way home from Cookeville, TN, my dad kept saying, "I have not agreed to having an animal." Well, this best represents Dad below... πŸ˜‚ He comes in from work and immediately asks where the cat is, he opens her window where her cat tree is so she can bird watch until Mom wakes up, and makes sure to tell you anytime she sleeps with him.
This bed was my great grandfather's on my Dad's side of the family. When he passed away in 1994, I got his bedroom set. When I moved out for college, my mom gave it to her aunt/mom for one of their spare bedrooms, and my grandfather refinished it. My cousin inherited it when she moved into her first apartment. She recently got married, and did not need the furniture anymore, so she asked if I would like to have it back. YES! I feel like this furniture has come full circle. I'm going to use the dresser in my house somewhere farmhouse style. So Colt upgraded from his bunk beds.

In exchange for Colt getting a new to him full size bed, Logan got a makeup vanity for her room. (Twins are always 1 for 1 πŸ˜’)

Eric came home from work the other day and immediately started putting it together for Princess Logan.

We ordered it off Amazon, and it turned out really nice. She uses it to play makeup and to play on her computer.

We had Super Colt show up Friday afternoon.

This past week was Eric's dad's birthday. We were able to finally get our schedules to line up Sunday for some family time, celebrations, and swimming. The kids are already sad swimming season is almost over.

πŸ‹ Their matching lemon swimsuits. πŸ‹

Rousey was swimming while Nash was on Lifeguard duty.

I'm not sure who had more fun, the kids or Rousey.

Other than school starting and trying to soak up the remaining days of summer, our nights have been filled with Ninja Warrior, Tumble (no pictures due staying in the car with mask requirements), and softball. Colt has even gotten to help out with Logan's softball team as a runner and ball fielder when needed. He's loving it.

If you are still with me after that long catch up, I hope you are doing well and staying safe.

I'm going to sign off with a picture of Colt sent Poppy while he was in the hospital letting him know he had his six. 😍

Until Next Time...

  1. What full pool photos! I love that you got your mom "her" cat. It's great that it was still available and that your dad got on board soon after.
